Google made big changes to the ways their search results rank, in the hope of offering it’s search users better results, on official google blog it is estimated 11.8% search results will be affected by this update, put it this way, google thinks about 12% of it’s search results are really bad and need to manipulated. The update was initiated more than a year ago, and recently I see some of my ranks were lowered considerably, on the other hand almost all keywords promoted by contextual links are not affected, and a few of them even gained a few positions, it’s safe to say that old way of link building is doomed.
What is old way of link building any way? There are a lot of SEO company out there are doing this, they add your links to those linking websites without context, these websites will only be updated when new links are being added, and most of them are useless, the name link spamming are just for these sites. New google algorithm most likely will punish these link spammers, any links on them will be affected too.
A few real world examples will help to explain what I said. In the very beginning, I didn’t know better, I needed to rank the keyword, Chain Binders, of course with old way of link building, lately I figured that every site in the campaign had way too many links, worst yet, those sites had no content at all. I would give credit where credit is due, this linking strategy worked, lately the keyword link stayed on the first page for a while, the party was over when google updated it’s algorithm. Something opposite happened to this keyword, chain puller , most back links for this keyword are from articles and posts, with very few plain links, now we have really good ranking for this keyword. Now contextual links win the battle, then what? Actually this is all about content, when you create unique and quality content, your rank will improve over time, since search engines are another kind of readers. You probably think there are already too many blogs out there, it’s not true, there will never be too many good blogs, for instance let’s examine this one, best smartphones 2011 , in the beginning I just post to it casually, lately I added nice stuff left and right, now it can even rank the highly competitive keywords. Now you can see, quality article marketing is much better than plain link building. Say you’re building your own bogging network, such as Binder Chains, you will have the power to push any sites up in search engines.
Bottom line is that you should create great content, get people to enjoy and share your stuff, in the mean time advertise your business with your content, your effort will reward you handsomely in the end. Whatever you do, you will need persistence and patience, you shouldn’t expect things to improve overnight, be it your business or search rankings, keep writing, publishing, sharing and creating, you will see the day of success. When publisinh articles, I prefer ezine, a new article will be indexed and cached in less than an hour, and some popular blogs will get your post indexed in minutes, there venues are ideal for promoting your site, here I am going to show you an article in article directory or on a blog, such as Mini Load Binders, nice writing, good content, published on popular site, all these points make it perfect for SEO.
We’re not finished yet, please remeber, we have hot social media now, no one can afford to not using them. The Twitter tools is a wordpress plugin, you can install it, sign up for a twitter account and create a new application, configure your twitter tools prpperly, then make sure every new post will post a new tweet, it’s real easy and useful, if you don’t use this tool it’s just too bad.
When it comes to truck tie downs, most of the products are pretty heavy. One piece of 1/2”x20′ Grade 70 Transport Chain usually weighs 54lbs, one 3/8”x25′ G7 binder chain weighs 38lbs, one 1/2”-5/8” ratchet binder weighs 16lbs, and I can give you more examples like these, but you get the idea. For a lot of truckers to do online shopping for tie downs, the shipping charge is the biggest hurdle for them to get a decent deal, even the products are cheaper than B&M stores, the shipping will kill the deal. What if you can get the lowest prices in town for the tie downs and enjoy the free shipping at the same time? Is that possible?
Actually it’s possible for truckers to get low cost heavy duty tie downs and enjoy free shipping at the same time, you probably will ask “How is that possible”? First let’s see who’s offering this kind of really nice deals, just search for “ratchet straps free shipping” or “binder chain free shipping” or similar terms on google, in first a few results you will see a few vendors are offering “free shipping”, but some of them are just the words combination, not real free shipping, their results are there only because on their pages there are combination of “free” and “shipping”, not “free shipping”, in fact there is only one vendor offers real free shipping for all items, and the criteria is pretty simple, you only need to order $50 or more stuff you will get free shipping.
But how? How can they offer free shipping on items like 1/2”x20′ or 3/8”x25′ grade 70 binder chain while keeping the price competitive? It seems that it’s impossible to offer competitive price with free shipping, because the shipping charge is way too much for the price to cover. But the reality is that there is one vendor who is offering free shipping, but how do they do it? According to Manufacturer Express(http://www.mfrexpress.com), it’s pretty simple, they use USPS priority flat rate box to ship the chains and some other heavy tie downs, since post office flat rate even works for Alaska and Hawaii, people everywhere in US can enjoy the low cost and free shipping. The most difficult part is how do you put the chains in those flat rate boxes, ME people told us they have their way to do it and 99% packages arrived without any issue. That’s pretty impressive I have to say.
If you want to score a decent deal for tie downs online, don’t forget to add “free shipping” to your search term!
There are a lot of online stores offer free shipping, all of the offers will have a minimum amount you will have to spend, this is common sense, no one can offer you free shipping if the total is only a few dollars. Another catch is the weight of the items in your order, almost all offers will have restrictions on the weight of the items, especially those online stores selling hardware, metal products, such as binder chains, load binders, 4 inch ratchet strap, etc., these products are pretty heavy, for instance, 3/8”x20′ binder chain weighs 30lbs a piece, if you buy 4 pieces it will be 120lbs, add in the shipping cost you will effectively double the price of the merchandise, unless the retailer offer much higher price there won’t be free shipping for these heavy stuff.
Now how could it be possible to offer free shipping on these heavy stuff while keep the price lower than other online stores?
First thing you need to get stuff at low price without sacrificing quality, then you will have to be creative with your shipping. First point is common sense, we’re not going to discuss that, we will talk about how to ship heavy stuff with reasonable rates, especially the rates on binder chains. Take 5/16”x20′ binder chain as an example, two pieces weigh 45lbs, we ask manufacturer to put a pair of chains in one box, and this box has to be able to fit the USPS medium flat rate box, now the flat rate box has fixed low rate compare to other carriers, and this rate is good for anywhere USA, even Hawaii and Alaska, now we can offer the best price around and free shipping at the same time! Just think about how much you will save when you buy binder chains with free shipping!
Now you may ask what about those things which can’t be put into the flat rate box? Take load binders as an example, we offer low price with free shipping, and these binders are sturdy and heavy, what we did was negotiating with our carrier for a special rate for heavy packages, both of us will benefit from more sales, this is a win-win situation from all of us, the seller, the buyers and the carrier. So far we are able to offer free shipping for all of our products, regardless of the weight of the items.
